Jonas Jennings, T (SF) |
The 49ers placed Jennings on injured reserve Tuesday for the third time in his four seasons with the club.
Analysis: Jennings underwent surgery Tuesday on his dislocated right shoulder, which has kept him out of action since it occurred in Week 2 against Seattle. He dressed but didn't play in the 49ers' (3-7) past two games, and the club eventually decided to scrap another season for a $36 million tackle who has missed 35 games with injuries since signing with San Francisco in 2005. |

Edgerrin James, RB (Ari) |
The Cardinals declined to consider releasing James when the running back's agent inquired about the possibility, the team's general manager said Wednesday.
Analysis: Rod Graves said he received a call from agent Drew Rosenhaus three weeks ago after James was benched in favor of rookie Tim Hightower and didn't play a down in Arizona's 34-13 victory at St. Louis. According to Graves, Rosenhaus asked if the team would consider releasing James "and we declined it as a consideration.'' James has three carries for 5 yards since losing his starting job. |

Earnest Graham, RB (TB) |
Graham will miss the remainder of the season after injuring his right ankle during last week's victory over the Minnesota Vikings. He limped off the field on his only carry, which went for 3 yards.
Analysis: Graham was leading Tampa Bay with 563 yards on 132 carries and scored four touchdowns. He had a career-best 898 yards and scored 10 times on 222 attempts. He also caught 49 passes for 324 yards. With Graham out, Warrick Dunn moves into the featured tailback role and Carnell Williams will be the backup. |

The NFL told Vikings coach Brad Childress on Wednesday that Allen will not be suspended for a spate of late hits.
Analysis: Instead, the league will fine Allen $25,000 and not punished further. Allen was summoned to the league office Tuesday and went with defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier. He was fined $50,000 for two late hits earlier this month on Houston quarterback Matt Schaub, one that injured his knee. He was called for roughing the passer the next week against Green Bay after knocking down Aaron Rodgers. |

Karney will miss Monday's home game with Green Bay because of his knee injury.
Analysis: Karney has 7 yards on four carries and has caught seven passes for 12 yards in eight games this season. He has rushed for 76 yards and five touchdowns in 71 career games. Karney has also caught 51 passes for 289 yards and two TDs. |

Darian Barnes, RB (NO) |
Barnes signed with the Saints on Wednesday, replacing an injured Aaron Stecker. New Orleans is without starting fullback Mike Karney for at least another week. In his career, Barnes has 10 rushing yards and 16 receptions for 121 yards and a touchdown.
Analysis: This is the ninth team Barnes has played for since signing with the New York Giants in 2002 as an undrafted free agent out of Hampton. |

Aaron Stecker, RB (NO) |
The Saints placed Stecker on injured reserve, and he will miss the remainder of the season. Stecker had rushed for 43 yards and caught eight passes for 52 yards. He ran for a career-high 448 yards last season after injuries to Deuce McAllister and Reggie Bush.
Analysis: Stecker, who has battled hamstring problems since the first week, is the 13th New Orleans player on injured reserve. He aggravated his hamstring on a 12-yard catch early in the first quarter Sunday at Kansas City. The Saints replaced Stecker with free-agent fullback Darian Barnes. |

Matt Hasselbeck, QB (Sea) |
Hasselback won't practice until Thursday at the earliest because of a bulging disk in his back that is causing a nerve problem in his right leg. Seattle coach Mike Holmgren expects the quarterback to play Sunday against Washington.
Analysis: Hasselbeck was sacked twice and threw three interceptions in Sunday's 26-20 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. He has not thrown for more than 190 yards in five games this season, and Hasselbeck has seven interceptions to only three touchdowns. He took a hit on the head during one of those two sacks, but Holmgren said the 33-year-old doesn't have a concussion. |

McKinnie has a trial date in Miami set for March 16. He faces four charges stemming from his alleged involvement in a fight outside a nightclub in February.
Analysis: McKinnie's attorney, Larry Kerr, appeared in Miami-Dade County court Tuesday. McKinnie was not required to attend. |

Analysis: This will end his season. Hodge appeared in six games for Cincinnati. |

Kellen Winslow, TE (Cle) |
Winslow will have an MRI on his right shoulder after injuring it in the closing minutes of Monday night's win over the Buffalo bills.
Analysis: Winslow was hurt when he was tackled in front of Buffalo's bench while making a 16-yard reception that set up Cleveland's game-winning field goal. The five-year veteran, who has had numerous injuries during his career, was driven to the ground by Bills linebacker Paul Posluszny and came up wincing in pain. |

Smith did not return after aggravating a calf injury while tackling Marshawn Lynch on the Bills' first possession of the third quarter.
Analysis: He was limping as he left the field and went immediately to the Browns' locker room. Smith was initially hurt in the first half. |

Jabari Greer, CB (Buf) |
Greer hurt his knee in the second quarter of Buffalo's game against the Cleveland Browns on Monday night.
Analysis: It's not clear how Greer was hurt, but it likely happened when Greer made a tackle stopping Braylon Edwards on an 18-yard catch. Greer has been Buffalo's most dependable cornerback this season, with 42 tackles, a team-leading nine passes defensed and two interceptions, which he's both returned for touchdowns. With Greer out, the Bills went with a rookie rotation involving first-round pick Leodis McKelvin and fourth-pick Reggie Corner. |

LaDainian Tomlinson, RB (SD) |
Tomlinson led the Chargers in rushing and receiving in an 11-10 loss Sunday to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He finished with 57 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries and caught three passes for 40 yards.
Analysis: It was eighth time in 10 games that Tomlinson was held to less than 100 yards. His last 100-yard game came Oct. 26 against New Orleans. The touchdown was his first since Sept. 28, and he has five on the season. |

Avery had a career-best nine receptions for 93 yards in Sunday's 35-16 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.
Analysis: Avery previously set career highs with six receptions for 163 yards against New England on Oct. 26. The rookie from Houston has 34 catches for 485 yards and two touchdowns this season. |

Pittman rushed for a career-high 95 yards on 14 attempts in a 35-16 loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
Analysis: Pittman, who was making his fourth straight start, had 139 yards last year and had rushed for 129 yards in six previous games. The 95 yards gives him 224 for the season. |

Marc Bulger, QB (StL) |
Bulger had season highs for completions (34) and attempts (53) in a 35-16 loss Sunday to the San Francisco 49ers. He finished with 295 yards and a touchdown.
Analysis: Bulger was coming off his worst performance of the season with 65 yards against the New York Jets. The 295 yards were topped only by a 304-yard game at New England. Bulger went 34-for-55 against the Chicago Bears on Dec. 11, 2006. His career highs for completions and attempts came Oct. 2 2005, against the New York Giants in a 40-for-62 performance. |

Frank Gore, RB (SF) |
Gore rushed for 106 yards and a season-high two touchdowns on 18 carries in a 35-16 win Sunday over the St. Louis Rams.
Analysis: It was Gore's first 100-yard performance since Oct. 12 against Philadelphia and his third in 10 games this season. Gore is sixth in the NFL with 834 yards. |
