Analysis: Konopka has four goals and three assists in 29 career NHL games and played six games with the Blue Jackets in 2006-07. He has 22 goals and 29 assists in 59 games with Syracuse this season.

The center has been playing with the Blue Jackets' AHL affiliate in Syracuse. The 26-year-old Konopka, played in six games with Columbus last season. Analysis: This is another blow to Konopka's season as he broke his left hand during the AHL playoffs last season, but played through it before having surgery to stabilize the bones with screws. The screws caused irritation, so Konopka had surgery late this summer, forcing him to miss all of training camp with the Blue Jackets and the first few games of the season with Syracuse.
